Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, the Moore County Old Jail was in operation for almost 100 years. Constructed of heavy oak timber, the jail contained two 8×8 jails. <\/p>\n
A new Moore County Jail was completed in 1990, and upon its opening, the old Jail transitioned into a Museum which showcases historical clothing, artifacts, and actual jail cells the inmates occupied.<\/p>\n
The Old Jail Museum is open from Noon to 3pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday. It’s closed most Holidays and is Handicap accessible.<\/p>\n
Admission is $1 for Adults – Children under 16 are Free. Group rates are available.<\/p>\n
